The Easy Domes concept centers on constructing sustainable dome houses for a wide range of uses. Our primary commitment is to utilize natural building materials whenever feasible, ensuring both environmental responsibility and structural integrity.

Specifications

Easy Domes are designed with sustainability in mind, utilizing recyclable and eco-friendly materials. Each dome is engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions, including wind speeds up to 100 m/s (exceeding the wind speeds of the most powerful hurricanes). The structure can easily carry one meter of wet snow on top of a 15cm turf roof — considered one of the heaviest roofing materials. The structure also demonstrates strong resistance to seismic activity.

All materials and components used in Easy Domes are certified by state and governmental institutions within the European Commission. The building techniques and design principles fully comply with legislation, standards, and building codes across the European Union.

Origin

The technical and professional expertise behind the development of the Easy Domes geodesic plate structure system originates from research and experimentation conducted in the 1970s at the Danish Technical University (DTU) and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. These studies focused on multi-faceted Platonic polyhedra with extreme geometric properties.

The Easy Domes structure is based on a truncated icosahedron, the geometric form known as fullerene or buckyball and adheres to the Euler polyhedra formula. The structure has been constructed and tested in a full-scale prototype. The test and demonstration has proven its effectiveness, showcasing multiple competitive advantages in the commercial building market—offering a high-quality, low-cost, and sustainable housing solution.
