Small Dome Houses

Assembled in only a few hours

Small Dome Houses

Small domes are ideal for tiny homes and recreational use.

Easily assembled without a crane and installed within a few hours.

Small domes ranging from 25 m² to 31 m² come well-furnished and can be arranged as cozy cottages, ideal for family stays lasting several weeks. For couples or individuals, they offer a comfortable option for longer-term living.

This dome size allows for flexible interior design, including the option to add a cozy loft for relaxation or work. Skylights and vertical windows can also be included to enhance natural light and views.

Flexible in design and suitable for multiple applications

The 25 m² cottage is the smallest of the dome houses, making it a perfect choice for weekend getaways or short stays for a couple or a small family. These small domes are versatile and can be used for a wide range of purposes – leisure activities, weekend or long-term retreats, creative studios, small workshops, tourism accommodations, observatories, and more.

In many countries, small houses and tiny homes are subject to specific building regulations. Insulation requirements, for example, may be less strict than those for larger homes. Be sure to check with your local building authority for detailed and up-to-date information.

interior

Shown here are interior layout examples featuring a combined kitchen and living room, an entrance area, and a bathroom.

A small wood-burning stove provides efficient heating when combined with a compact electric radiator. Hot water is supplied by a 50-liter tank, which can be wall-mounted in the shower room.

To maximize usable floorspace, a movable ladder is provided for access to the loft room.

Arctic Cottage 25 m²

The Arctic Cottage is specially designed to withstand the unique climate conditions of northern locations. Built on a wooden post foundation with supports at each corner, this dome offers a slightly larger footprint compared to the standard 25 m² model. While the interior layout is similar to that of the traditional cottage, the Arctic Dome features enhanced insulation – up to 400 mm in both the wall and roof structures – for superior thermal performance and year-round comfort.

The technical equipment for energy supply must be adapted to the local climate, particularly in regions with freezing temperatures. For grid-connected setups, a basic yet effective solution includes a solar collector combined with a ventilation heat pump. In off-grid scenarios, a 2-6 kW wind turbine – equipped with heating elements in the blades and nacelle – is recommended. A converter and a battery storage system will also be required to ensure consistent energy availability.

Addition of two 25 m² arctic cottages

Additional domes can be connected in two main ways. One method is to join two or more domes at the same level, aligning the hexagonal sections to create door openings between them. Alternatively, a two-level configuration can be achieved by rotating one dome 36° and elevating it so that a quadrangle aligns with the upper part of a hexagon from the lower dome. This arrangement allows for a staircase between the levels. With these additions, the combined interior area can reach approximately 49 m².
